Richard Bonner, property director of Peel Holdings' Trafford Centre in Manchester, died suddenly of a heart attack earlier his month.
Bonner, who was 42, had worked for Peel Holdings for 10 years and had been at the Trafford Centre from the outset working as part of the team that dealt with the design, consruction and letting of the scheme.
A replacement remains to be appointed, with a spokeswoman commenting: "Richard was very highly regarded and was very popular with his fellow directors, managers and employees as well as professionals acting on both sides."
She added: "We haven't even begun to think about a replacement yet."
Bonner leaves behind him a wife, daughter, son and grandson and will be sorely missed.
