Expected to double the prime retail pitch in central Folkestone, the £30m development is the first joint venture since Warner purchased a 25 per cent shareholding in Bride Hall last year.

Asda will anchor the centre from a 75,000 sq ft store, with Bhs, Next, George, Peacocks, HMV and New Look among other high street names that will occupy the 25 units on offer.

The centre will provide the large floor areas required by major national retailers that Folkestone has been lacking to this point. Karl Meade, associate director at Warner Estate, anticipated that the scheme will invigorate Folkestone, saying: “A new level of shopping provision is being created that will enhance the town centre retail prospect.”

The scheme includes a 600-space car park managed by NCP, in addition to which shoppers will have access to 600 spaces at the adjacent Middleburg Square car park, currently undergoing refurbishment.

HGB is the main contractor on the development. Architects are GMW Architects, and Green & Partners are the sole letting agents.
