Sweet treats for shoppers at High Chelmer

Published:  18 January, 2012

High Chelmer shopping centre welcomed Sweets & Sarnies to its ever evolving mix of retailers, on 13 January.

The store was officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Chelmsford during a ribbon cutting ceremony also attended by Sweets & Sarnies owner Sarah Vinton-Smith.

As part of the opening launch platters of sandwiches, slices of cake and drinks were on offer to attendees, with the first 100 customers getting a goody bag filled with sweets. There was also a charity raffle hosted on the day which served to raise funds for the Farleigh Hospice, the prize being a hamper packed with American candy and soda worth over £50.

Sweets & Sarnies serves a selection of sweet and savory delights including hot paninis, celebration cakes, cupcakes, crisps, sugar-free sweets, pic ‘n’ mix retro sweets and handmade chocolates. They also offer a variety of cold drinks, milkshakes and hot drinks.

Centre manager, Mick McDonagh said: “Sweets & Sarnies is a welcome addition to Exchange Way and further enhances our offering of eateries, cafes and food stores in the centre. We continue to work alongside existing and new retailers in order to improve the shopping environment for the benefit of all our customers and continually strive to provide added value for consumers wherever possible. We look forward to welcoming more new stores and improving the centre over the forthcoming months.”
