Harvey Nichols chooses Liverpool One for a new 22,000-sq ft concept store
Harvey Nichols has chosen Liverpool One in which to launch a new concept, small format store. The fashion store will occupy the 22,000-sq ft former Habitat store in Peter’s Lane, Liverpool One’s fashion hub, opening in Autumn 2012.
Miles Dunnett, head of asset management at the Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, said: “There is no better testament to the success of Liverpool One, and indeed Liverpool, than Harvey Nichols’ decision to choose it for this new-format store.”
Joseph Wan, chief executive at Harvey Nichols, added: “Liverpool One serves a large catchment area, with a loyal and discerning customer, and there is no better place from which to launch this exciting new concept.”
The decision follows a successful trial in the run-up to Christmas of a Harvey Nichols Foodmarket pop-up shop. The temporary store has been a great success, exceeding the brand’s expectations in terms of sales and positive customer feedback.
The news that Harvey Nichols has chosen Liverpool One for a new concept is the culmination of a successful final quarter of 2011. Over 950,000 people visited Liverpool One in the week before Christmas, representing a 30 per cent increase on the previous year. Overall footfall for 2011 was up by more than 5 per cent compared to 2010, and sales increased by over 10 per cent for the year.
