Henderson secures a series of lettings at N1, Islington

Henderson Global Investors, on behalf of two funds for its German joint venture Warburg – Henderson, has achieved a series of key lettings at its N1 shopping centre in Islington.
Highlights include ITSU, who have signed a 15 year lease, Intimissimi who have agreed a new 10 year lease, and Calzedonia who have agreed a new 10 year lease.
The centre was purchased by Henderson in summer 2010 and comprises 150,000 sq ft of modern commercial space built over two floors together with a 100 space car park.
Jason Boyce, senior portfolio manager, at Henderson Global Investors said: “The lettings secured since the scheme was purchased last year, demonstrate our commitment to improve the tenant mix and footfall of the centre.
“The quality of tenants introduced to the scheme and length of leases demonstrates the strength of location, which benefits from the distinct lack of competing schemes in the immediate area. The new retailers will also benefit from the strong footfall and complement the calibre of existing tenants, which include French Connection, Gap and H&M.
“ITSU joins an already excellent catering offer which adds to the significant leisure offer of the centre – dominated by a 9-screen Vue Cinema and the O2 Academy, Islington’s live music venue - which help maintain footfall at quieter times.”
Henderson was advised by CWM and CBRE whilst the retailers were advised by Harper Dennis Hobbs, Savills and Proteus Property.
