Parkway welcomes Whitewall Galleries

In readiness for the festive season, Standard Life Investments has wrapped up a deal with contemporary fine art retailer, Whitewall Galleries, at their new 300,000 sq ft Parkway shopping centre in Newbury.
Whitewall, which offers art from around the world, has signed up for a 1,353 sq ft unit over two floors in East Street, next to Costa and Mint Velvet. The letting comes hot on the heels of French brasserie, Café Rouge, which signed just weeks after the successful scheme opening in October. Whitewall Galleries and Café Rouge will open in spring 2012, alongside the new 60,000 sq ft John Lewis at home.
The new occupiers will join the line-up including Jigsaw, Superdry, Jones the Bootmaker, H&M, Fat Face, Paperchase, Hotel Chocolat and Debenhams.
Ed Jenkins, head of UK retail at Standard Life Investments said: “It’s fantastic to bring another new retailer to Newbury so soon after opening, and expand on the great selection of independent and high street brands that are already trading successfully in the town.”
The mixed-use scheme, which totals 475,000 sq ft, comprises 300,000 sq ft of retail, a 550-space shopper car park and 147 new apartments.
Development managers for Parkway are Shearer Property Group. Letting agents are Strutt & Parker and Jones Lang LaSalle.
