Salmon Harvester and LaSalle Investment Management have opened their new retail and leisure park The Loom in Leigh, near Manchester

The £50m 150,000-sq ft scheme, built on the site of a redundant radiator factory, includes a new seven-screen Cineworld multiplex cinema, three restaurants and a 120,000-sq ft Tesco Extra which opened in September. Chinese restaurant chain The Real China will open a 5,000-sq ft restaurant and Frankie and Benny’s a 3,500-sq ft restaurant. The remaining 3,400-sq ft restaurant is currently under offer to a major national restaurant chain.

Doug Stewart, chief executive of developer Salmon Harvester said: “The Loom is a great new retail and leisure destination that marks a significant regeneration within Leigh town centre increasing both catering, leisure and food retail choices for local shoppers and residents. It brings the first new multiplex cinema to the area and creates a vibrant new daytime and evening retail and leisure destination.”

Salmon Harvester was advised by DMR and Lyndon Yeomans, while Hoddle Stotesbury advised LaSalle..
