Bluewater opened the Plaza, the new dining destination, with Wahaca co-founder and Masterchef winner, Thomasina Miers, on Friday.
The Plaza links Bluewater’s Thames Walk to new exhibition and events space Glow, which opens on November 30. The 11 brands, six of which are new to Bluewater, occupy a total of over 54,000 sq ft. Jamie’s Italian, Wagamama and Tapas Revolution join TGI Friday and Ed’s Easy Diner on the upper level, the latter two having undertaken complete refurbishments. On the lower level of the Plaza, new restaurants from Wahaca, Balans and Browns join Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Nando’s and La Tasca, all of which have also been refurbished.
Guy Thomas, head of retail leasing at Lend Lease, said: “The Plaza provides guests and with an exciting new destination for dining at Bluewater, where the experience is very much focused on the theatre of food. The critical mass of entertainment-themed restaurants and bars are also the perfect complement to Glow, our amazing new events destination that will create an innovative new model for asset enhancement in the industry.”
Glow, Bluewater, opens on November 30 with a series of shows in the run-up to Christmas, including the Christmas in New York experience.
Shelley Sandzer, DTZ and CBRE acted for Bluewater.
