New travel card at Cribbs Causeway

Published:  09 November, 2011

The Mall, The Venue and The Retail Park at Cribbs Causeway have embarked on a new initiative to encourage sustainable travel amongst their employees by offering a bespoke Travel Card scheme.

The programme, which is open to all 7,000 employees of the Cribbs Causeway retail and leisure complex near Bristol, offers discounts of nearly 60 per cent on bus travel across the First network. It has been introduced as a combined and concerted effort towards sustainable travel and aims to reduce solo car usage and minimise the scheme’s impact on the environment.

The Cribbs Causeway programme has been introduced to coincide with the launch of the Greater Bristol Bus Network improvements.  Their package of measures includes two new infrastructure routes into Cribbs, real time information on around 60 per cent of the services and a new real time display at the centre’s bus station to make public transport an easier and more user-friendly option for both staff and shoppers.

Jon Edwards, commercial director of The Mall at Cribbs Causeway said: “By making public transport a more attractive and cost-effective alternative for our employees, we are confident we can make a real difference to our collective environmental impact. With high petrol prices, bus travel at such discount offers a huge cost saving, and we hope many of our employees will take advantage of this unique scheme.”
