Royal London unveils Halifax scheme

Royal London Asset Management has submitted plans for the 123,000-sq ft redevelopment of the Pennine Shopping Centre, Halifax
Under the peoposals, designed by , The Harris Partnership, the existing centre, which lies to the South of the town centre,will be demolished and re-built with a new scheme that will act as an anchor for the regeneration of the town's commercial area with excellent pedestrian links to key areas such as Market Street, The Piece Hall and key transport hubs. The new scheme will have 500 parking spaces.
Submission of the planning application by The Harris Partnership follows two years of working closely with the developer, as well as Calderdale Council. A public exhibition held in June, and prepared by the practice received positive feedback.

The design is striking, utilising quality materials throughout and will be a welcome addition to the town centre. We are delighted to be playing such a key role in the regeneration of the town which is becoming a great retail destination.”
