Victoria Square, Belfast tops successful third quarter with new fashion signing
International fashion brand Mexx has opened a new standalone concept store on the Lower Ground Floor of Victoria Square, Belfast. The new opening ofollows a very strong first three quarters at Victoria Square. Against a backdrop of declining retail sales across the UK, Victoria Square is reporting a 4.3 per cent increase in footfall on 2010 levels and a 3 per cent increase on 2010 sales, as of September 2011.
Mexx is the latest in a number of international brands to set up shop in Victoria Square in 2011, with fashion retailers USC, Bank, Guess, Mimco and restaurant Wagamama all opening within the scheme in the past twelve months. And Swatch also opened a new Swatch Event Showroom on the Upper Ground Floor of Victoria Square.
Centre manager Hugh Black said: “Victoria Square hosts a diverse range of leading brands and the opening of international fashion retailer Mexx will greatly add to our fashion-forward offering.
“Victoria Square’s 2011 performance to date shows encouraging increases in both levels of footfall and sales on last year.
