Secretary of State decides not to call in ING's application for the £24m phase 2 at the North East’s biggest outlet centre

ING Real Estate has cleared another significant planning hurdle for the delivery of Phase 2 at Dalton Park in County Durham, the biggest outlet centre in the North East. The announcement follows a unanimous decision to approve the application in June 2011 by Durham County Council’s Planning Committee, against officers’ recommendation.
The proposals for phase 2 includea 91,000-sq ft foodstore; a 22,000-sq ft cinema; a 90-room hotel; 22,000 sq ft of food and drink units; a petrol station; a drive through restaurant and a pub.
GL Hearn Strategic Communications provided communications support and Indigo Planning are the planning consultants.
