Trowbridge to get 155,000 sq ft leisure and retail development

The 10 acre site of the former Bowyers pork pie factory in Trowbridge is set to be transformed into a new leisure-led mixed-use development under plans unveiled by developer Prorsus.
The regeneration of the old Bowyers site into the 155,000 sq ft ‘Innox Riverside’, will bring much-needed leisure and retail to the heart of Trowbridge.
It will comprise of a 31,000 sq ft 8-screen multiplex cinema, at least six 100-seat family restaurants, an 80,000 sq ft Morrisons foodstore, coffee shops, a family pub and new civic spaces.
Listed buildings will be retained to form a new civic square, with a riverside walk along the banks of the River Biss.
Angus Horner, managing director of Prorsus said: “Our vision for Innox Riverside is simple – to transform the derelict Bowyers site into a vibrant place to meet, eat, relax, shop and watch movies. Too many schemes in Trowbridge have promised great things then failed to deliver. In contrast, following the site purchase in June, Innox Riverside is already fully funded and, subject to securing planning consent, will be built in time for Christmas 2013.
“Cineworld and Morrisons have already committed to the development, we have received strong interest from leading restaurant operators and we are now close to being fully let.”
