Meadowhall plans Christmas charity pop concert
Published: 12 October, 2011
After the sell-out success of last year’s inaugural event, Sheffield’s Meadowhall has once again teamed up with Hallam FM to host its second outdoor Christmas Light Switch-On Concert.
Meadowhall’s annual Christmas light switch-on has always attracted big names, with Olly Murs, Eliza Doolittle and Alesha Dixon performing in 2010, and this year is promising to be bigger and better – with the headline acts being announced soon.
Following the demand for tickets last year, Meadowhall has increased the capacity to 15,000. The ticket price is £2.50, with money raised going to Cash for Kids and Meadowhall’s Charity of the Year, Helen’s Trust.
Richard Pinfold, marketing director at Meadowhall, said: “Meadowhall is in its landmark 21st year and we want to keep providing people with opportunities to create memories and experience pure moments of Meadowhall. Last year’s concert was a big hit and we wanted to invite even more people this year to welcome in Christmas and the Centre’s late night opening.”
Wristband holders will also be entitled to exclusive discounts from Meadowhall retailers plus a competition to meet the stars.
