The Rock, in Bury, North Manchester, is set to host a spectacular array of light and fire inspired events on Friday.

Visitors to The Rock will experience a late night shopping trip with a twist as they are given the opportunity to party into the night with a silent disco in St John’s Square, stroll around the magical fire garden at St John’s Gardens, enjoy extreme ‘Glow Bowling’ into the early hours at AMF Bowling, and prepare to be in awe of the spectacular firework displays.

Bolton painter Andy Smith will also be adding a splash of art to The Rock, wowing audiences with his oversized brushes and unique UV street art.

Designed to boost the local evening economy, ‘Light Night’ aims to bring together all aspects of the community and celebrate everything that Bury has to offer as a town. It will showcase the late night shopping offer, art, culture, environment, restaurants, bars and retail outlets.

A wide variety of venues and attractions across Bury town centre have got involved and will stay open into the evening to host a raft of events and activities. Visitors can look forward to a candle–lit labyrinth, artistic demonstrations, Zumba Street Party, music and dance demonstrations, a late night specialist market, and a ‘Murderous Fusiliers Tour’.

Marketing manager, Nikki Kitchen, said: “Light Night is a fantastic event and a great tribute to Bury and its community. It is a spectacular event that will put Bury on the map, and really highlight all that Bury has to offer as a town.”
