Westfield partners with Jamie Oliver’s ministry of food

Westfield has agreed a national partnership with Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food campaign which teaches people how to cook nutritious food using fresh ingredients.
Westfield shopping centres across the UK will support the work of existing and future Ministries of Food through hosting demos and cookery sessions. The Ministry of Food team is already active at Stratford City.
Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food Centres have already proved a huge success in Rotherham, Bradford, Leeds and the North-East where classes are booked up many weeks in advance. Each centre is run by local people who are trained by Jamie’s team and who can then pass on their cooking knowledge in a welcoming and friendly way, making them both accessible and enjoyable even for people with no cooking knowledge.
Myf Ryan, general manager, marketing at Westfield said: ‘With food and dining a key offer across all of Westfield’s shopping centres, the partnership with Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food was a natural fit to introduce communities across the country to great food at home. Westfield already has a successful relationship with the Jamie Oliver Group through its Jamie’s Italian restaurant collection, which has branches at Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City, so the partnership with Ministry of Food is very exciting.
“Westfield centres across the UK all place food and dining as a key offer for our shoppers and it is great to think that by working with Ministry of Food, people will also be more aware of how to create quality meals at home. Fresh food is critical to this and at Westfield Stratford City, alongside Waitrose and an M&S Food Hall, we have opened the Great Eastern Market – a modern interpretation of a traditional market space bringing together food specialists and delicatessens offering food products, prepared food and ingredients and an opportunity to relax and enjoy the food theatre.”
