Open from 25 – 30 October, visitors will be greeted by characters including Bagpuss, Gabriel, Madeline, Professor Yaffle and the singing mice. A corner of the shop will be tansformed into Clangers’ planet complete with Mother, Major, Small, Tin and Granny original puppets. And there will be an exhibition of photographs showing creators working on other shows including Ivor The Engine and Noggin The Nog.
Creator Peter Firmin and his son Daniel will be on hand on the 25th to greet fans, sign merchandise and share inspirational stories about their work, and Sandra Kerr will be performing in two one hour sessions on the 29th.
The shop will stock everything from cuddly toys and greeting cards to DVDs and CDs, and even microwavable Bagpuss slippers. Proceeds made from selected Bagpuss products will go Asthma UK and proceeds from certain Clangers merchandise will go to Yorkshire Cancer Research.
