Superdry Signs Up at Whitgift Shopping Centre, Croydon

Superdry has signed up for its 68th UK store in the Whitgift Shopping Centre in Croydon, owned by The Whitgift Trust

Superdry’s latest store will be a 6,000- sq ft three-level space that will be created by combining four former units. This follows Superdry's recent deal for a flagship London store on Regent Street.

Nigel Jobson, property director of Superdry, said: "Whitgift is Croydon's busiest retail centre and we are excited about opening in such a great location. A lot of work and creativity have gone into its design and fitting out, and we are optimistic that it will open as spectacularly as our other stores.”

The new Superdry store at the Whitgift Shopping Centre will be open to trade by Christmas and follows the recent opening of New Look where the landlord combined five former units to create a 19,000-sq ft two level store. Other key brands at the centre include Topshop/Topman, Monsoon, River Island, H&M and Clas Ohlson.

Adrian Oliver from Vale Retail, asset manager of the Whitgift Shopping Centre, said: “This is another very positive step in pushing the Whitgift Shopping Centre forward extending its dominant role as the prime retail scheme within the town.”

Jones Lang LaSalle advised.
