Sovereign Land has head hunted Strutt & Parker partner Paul Bailey to work on its development and asset management pipeline

Bailey, who will start at Sovereign Land later in the year, brings 16 years of retail property experience to his new role, advising industry leaders such as Henderson Global Investments, Aviva Investors, Capital Shopping Centres, Standard Life and Grosvenor. Over the years, Bailey has been responsible for leasing of some of the UK’s most important retail projects including Buchanan Galleries (Glasgow), Liverpool One, Southgate (Bath), Parkway (Newbury) and The Glades (Bromley).

Bailey will work closely with Sovereign Land directors Chris Geaves and Max La Frenais. He will draw on their experience to maximise the value of the company’s existing assets which include £170 million Trinity Walk shopping centre in Wakefield (which opened in May 2011) as well as the enhancement of the 180,000-sq ft Ayr Central Shopping Centre, where work is shortly due to start on site.

Chris Geaves commented: “I am delighted Paul is joining the team. He has a wealth of experience working on major UK schemes and will be a valuable asset. I know he will work well with Tim and Max and relate well with our investors.”
