Rokeby celebrates completion of The Pipeworks

Joint developers Rokeby Developments and Peveril Securities have announced the completion of construction of their 112,000 sq ft mixed-use leisure and retail scheme The Pipeworks in Swadlincote – the largest retail park to be built this year.
Recent lettings include Home Bargains, which has signed up on a 15-year lease for a 13,150 sq ft unit. And Pound World has taken a 10-year lease on the 9,000 sq ft unit.
Other occupiers include Greene King’s Hungry Horse, Aldi, Iceland, Argos, Store 21, Peacocks and a five screen Curzon cinema.
Rokeby Developments (Swadlincote) managing director Adrian Goodall said: “The completion of construction of The Pipeworks is a very important milestone for us, especially given the tough economic climate.
“There is only one retail unit unlet, the 4,756 sq ft unit five, which was deliberately held back to capitalise on the success of the scheme. It has planning consent for a full mezzanine floor and has attracted considerable interest.
“There is also 3,769 sq ft for food still available. It could be one restaurant or broken down into smaller units and both options have attracted a lot of viewings.”
Stephen Smart and Company and Knight Frank are advising on the scheme.
