Harcourt Developments signs three at Laois

Boots, Poundland and Costa sign for the Tesco-anchored Laois shopping centre ahead of the October 2011 completion

Boots has taken a 9,461-sq ft unit. British retailer Poundland which will trade as Dealz has taken a 9,127-sq ft unit. Costa Coffee has taken a 1,752-sq ft unit.

Both Boots and Dealz have commenced fit out, with Boots opening on 21st September and Dealz expected to open later this month. Costa Coffee is due to commence fit out soon and expected to open in early October.

The redevelopment of Laois Shopping Centre is one of the only retail projects currently being constructed inIreland. The full scheme is scheduled to complete by October 2011. Once completed the total size of the new scheme will be approximately 265,000 sq ft including a range of retail units from 500 to 30,000 sq ft.

Pat Power of Harcourt Developments said: “Since the opening of Tesco Extra we are already attracting a new customer base and drawing on a much wider catchment, with footfall already increasing by 20 per cent. There is a strong demand for a scheme such as Laois Shopping Centre which acts as the main shopping hub for theMidlands. We will be announcing new additional retailers which will commence fit out soon.”
