Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited (HREIML), has announced a new letting agreement with Marks & Spencer at its Crystal Peaks shopping centre, Sheffield.
M&S has taken a 56,000 sq ft unit on a 25 year lease. The high street favourite will begin fitting out the new store in late 2011, with opening scheduled for mid 2012.
A ten year lease has also been agreed with telecommunications giant Hutchison 3G, while leading bookmakers Betfred have signed a lease for 15 years. They join existing retailers including Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Next and Sainsburys.
Ian Cody, senior asset manager at HREIML, said: "We are delighted to welcome Marks & Spencer to Crystal Peaks. Alongside other recent lettings at the centre, this marks the beginning of an exciting new future for Crystal Peaks. We will continue to invest in enhancing the shopping experience for visitors and to attract the best retailers to the centre."
Clem Constantine, director of property at Marks & Spencer, said: “We are very excited by the opportunity offered by Crystal Peaks. It’s further investment from us in Sheffield following the opening of our Ecclesall Road Simply Food store in April and it’s a great location we’ve secured. The store will offer the best of M&S to our customers and will include a full line offer in food, clothing, homeware and gifts.”
Douglas Stevens and co and Cushman and Wakefield acted for HREIML. McMullen Wilson acted for Marks & Spencer.
