Hammerson plots Croydon revamp

Hammerson is planning significant improvements to the 700,000-sq ft Centrale shopping centre in Croydon which it bought earlier in the year for £98m
Planning and urban design consultancy Turley Associates has been appointed by Hammerson to provide strategic planning advice and coordinate an enhancement strategy for the Centrale shopping centre in Croydon.
Sarah Stevens, a director in theLondonoffice of Turley Associates, said: “Turley Associates has worked alongside Hammerson on large retail schemes inBirminghamandSouthamptonand we are delighted to be appointed to provide planning consultancy support in Croydon.
“Croydon has the 13th largest shopping population in theUK, with 455,000 people. It is an important site and a valuable addition to Hammerson’s portfolio.”
