Rubie Charalambous, centre director at The Brewery in Romford has praised the work of the police during the riots last week.

She has written to chief superintendant and borough commander for Havering, Mike Smith, commending his team and offering them a series of discounts on Tuesday 23rd August by way of thanks.

In her letter, Charalambous wrote: “I write to tell you that your policing team were superb in their handling of the potential riots in Romford. All three teams were in contact with me throughout and this was crucial in relaying information to tenants.

“The intelligence team led by John Fish showed outstanding leadership –as did Town Centre Team and Safer Neighbourhood.”

At the ‘special 999 night’ local police will be able to get a range of discounts from The Brewery’s tenants including free entry to gym Esporta, 5-10 per cent off bookings at Thomas Cook, free bowling at Namco and 20 per cent off at Nandos and Frankie & Bennys.
