New centre manager at Ayr Central
Published: 10 August, 2011
Sovereign Land and AREA Property Partners have announced the appointment of Peter Clark as centre manager of Ayr Central – the 180,000 sq ft town centre scheme they purchased earlier this year.
Peter will work with Gary Melnitschuk - previously operations manager, but now promoted to deputy centre manager - to help implement the new owners’ asset management plan to improve the centre environment, increase lettable area and add to the centre’s tenant mix. In particular the new strategy will seek to expand the town’s limited food & beverage offer, improving dwell time at Ayr Central by creating new restaurant units within the scheme.
Peter brings over 25 years management experience to the role, previously working as centre manager at the 120,000 sq ft Regent Centre in Kirkintilloch. Prior to this, Peter worked at Shawlands Arcade, a 250,000 sq ft retail, office and residential scheme just south of Glasgow, and The Argyll Arcade in Glasgow.
Peter Clark said: “I am very excited about the role of centre manager at Ayr Central shopping centre, and am very proud to have been given such a fantastic opportunity. Ayr Central already boasts some of the UK’s leading brands and, with the new strategy in place to develop and improve its retail offer, the scheme is only going to get bigger and better. I am eagerly anticipating the challenge ahead and working closely with the centre’s tenants and the Ayr community.”
