CB Richard Ellis has been appointment as joint letting agents for the Ilac shopping centre in Dublin’s city centre. This appointment, effective from this month, represents the first major shopping centre mandate for CBRE’s newly established ‘Pan Ireland’ Retail Team.
The 260,000 sq ft Ilac shopping centre includes 1,000 car spaces and is located in one of Dublin city centre’s prime shopping districts. The centre is currently anchored by Dunnes Stores and Debenhams. Other occupiers include River Island, H&M, Argos and Iceland.
Michael Harrington, executive director and ‘Pan Ireland’ head of retail, said: “The Ilac centre, which was the subject of a €60 million refurbishment in 2006, is a significant part of the Dublin city centre retail landscape and we are delighted to have been selected as joint letting agent on such an important and high-profile scheme. Securing this major retail mandate and growing our retail team with the addition of Shane Cahir and Niamh Riney confirms our overall commitment to becoming the number one commercial real estate advisor in every sector, as well as every market, in which we operate.”
CBRE is continuing to strengthen and expand its ‘Pan Ireland’ Retail Team and has recently made a number of senior appointments, including Shane Cahir and Niamh Riney as associate directors. Shane joins CBRE from Colliers International where he specialised in the retail sector with a particular emphasis on shopping centres and tenant representation. Prior to joining CBRE, Niamh Riney held the position of retail chartered surveyor in Savills where she was primarily responsible for large, high-profile retail projects including shopping centres and high street retail premises.
