Bloomfield Shopping Centre and Retail Park in Bangor, Co Down, has unveiled plans for a £10m extension

Opened in 1992, Bloomfield already has 45 mall units and 10 retail park units which include M&S, Tesco, Smyths Toys  and Laura Ashley.

The investment will result in a 15,000-sq ft mall unit for clothing retailer Peacocks, which will begin trading in mid-October. Existing retailer Hanna & Browne will extend its presence to 17,500 sq ft, which will provide customers with access to the store from the mall. Meanwhile, in the retail park the New York Italian restaurant and bar Frankie & Benny’s will open in a purpose built unit this August.

Jamie Bill, centre manger for Bloomfield said: “It is great to know that in these uncertain times Bloomfield Shopping Centre and Retail Park continues to invest in North Down, bringing  not only additional employment but providing a bigger and better shopping experience for our loyal customers.
