USC letting strengthens Swindon retail offering

Published:  27 June, 2011

Ignis and Shearer Property Group have signed USC to take its first store in Swindon at The Parade Shopping Centre

Since the redevelopment of the shopping centre began in 2010, The Parade has reinforced its position as Swindon’s prime fashion pitch and the letting to USC further strengthens the line-up.

The redevelopment of the centre’s former BHS unit has created 80,000 sq ft of new prime retail space and USC will take a combined total of 6,226 sq ft over two floors on a 10 year lease. Bhs’ new 45.000 sq/ft store opened recently, and when USC opens in August this year it will trade alongside other high-street names including Topshop, River Island and Monsoon.

River Island has recently opened a new 9,500sq ft flagship store and has chosen the Parade to trial its first UK new store fit out.

The Parade shopping centre is located in heart of Swindon and comprises 300,000 sq ft of retail space, housing names such as Debenhams, Peacocks and Superdrug. The centre is owned by UK Commercial Property Trust.

GVA and Lunson Mitchenall acted for Ignis Real Estate and Shearer Property Group. CBRE acted for USC.
