LDO unveils first tenants

Developer Quintain has announced a raft of restaurant signings for its London Designer Outlet at Wembley
The London Designer Outlet is the major retail and leisure element of Quintain’s Wembley City scheme, and will be London’s first designer outlet and the only one within the M25.Frankie & Benny's, Handmade Burger Co and Jimmy Spice’s have all signed, boosting LDO’s leisure offer. Along with Cineworld, - which has already signed a 25-year lease for a new nine-screen cinema – this takes the scheme to 30 per cent let by floorspace.
Frankie and Benny’s has taken a 25-year lease on 4,138 sq ft; Handmade Burger Co has taken a 15-year lease on 2,700 sq fdt and Jimmy Spice’s as taken 13,121 sq ft for a 25-year term.
Phil Cottingham, Managing Director of Retail at Quintain, comments: “I am thrilled to announce this exciting line up of cosmopolitan restaurants. We have intentionally targeted leisure operators in the first phase of the lettings strategy as part of our overall aim to deliver a mixed-use retail, restaurant and entertainment lifestyle destination.
“We are now focused on securing our retail anchors – many of which are at an advanced stage of negotiation. We will then be targeting aspirational designer brands, as well as the emerging fashion and lifestyle labels looking to take their first step into the designer outlet sector.”
Work on site will start in autumn 2011. The new nine-screen cinema, which will seat 1,800 people, is scheduled for completion in 2013 - alongside the retail brands and restaurants.
