Three more retailers have signed up to take over 12,000 sq ft at Parkway Newbury, Standard Life Investments’ 475,000-sq ft mixed-use development, bringing the scheme to more than 75 per cent let by area with five months still to go until opening

Superdry, Fraser Hart and Johnsons of Windsor, all of which are new to Newbury, have confirmed that they are to take 10-year leases in the retail-led scheme, which opens in October 2011.

All three tenants have taken units in Parkway’s Middle Street, with Superdry taking 4,608 sq ft, Fraser Hart taking 3,000 sq ft, while Johnsons of Windsor has taken 4,446 sq ft.

The new tenants will trade alongside anchors Debenhams, M&S and John Lewis at home, together with an exciting tenant mix that includes H&M, New Look, Topshop, Jones Bootmaker, Lakeland and Paperchase.

Ed Jenkins, head of UK retail at Standard Life Investments, said: “It is a fantastic achievement to sign three such great retail names to Parkway. These latest lettings will add to Newbury’s ever-growing retail mix and will offer shoppers greater variety in the town centre. It promises to be a very exciting opening this October.”

Development managers for Parkway are Shearer Property Group. Letting agents are Strutt & Parker and Jones Lang LaSalle. Smith Price acted for Fraser Hart and Gilbert Evans for Johnsons of Windsor.
