On Saturday 28th May, The Light in Leeds held a special music festival to help celebrate its 10th anniversary and raise money for local charity Browning House.
Nine local bands entertained 175 festival goers throughout the day.
£500 was raised for Browning House through ticket sales and the sale of a hog roast, which was supplied by The Light.
The money will go towards the creation of a playground for visitors to Browning House, in an effort to provide a safe and secure space for young children and babies to explore the outside world and to have equipment and activities that will enable parents to engage, learn and play too.
Barry Graham, chief executive at Browning House said: "We thank The Light for supporting Browning House and for giving us this opportunity to be part of an event of this nature. As a local children's charity we are grateful for the fundraising contribution".
Stephanie James, The Light’s marketing manager added: “The event was a huge success and I cannot thank everyone who was involved enough. It is always great to be able to support local organisations and to help give young talent a platform to showcase themselves”.
The event was supported by Ilkley Brewery which supplied a selection of hand pulled ales for visitors to try, including celebratory ale in honour of The Lights’ 10th birthday.
