Wedding extravaganza at the Harvey Centre

Published:  27 May, 2011

The Harvey Centre in Harlow held a one-day wedding fair complete with catwalk, stalls and participation from retailers, in a celebration of all things matrimonial.

Hundreds of expectant brides, grooms and excited families thronged the centre’s atrium where over a dozen stalls and a catwalk had been set up. Visitors enjoyed four wedding inspired fashion shows, browsed the stalls and picked up ideas and tips from retailers.

Retailers specialising in bridalwear; jewellery; hair and beauty; lingerie, wedding cakes, party accessories, cards, gifts and travel were all on hand to provide information and advice.

The stores were overwhelmed with couples and families seeking advice and entering competitions for products and services, helping to capture visitor data. Stores have reported thousands of pounds of additional sales directly attributable to the wedding fair.

Bryan Young, centre manager of the Harvey Centre said: “We were absolutely delighted by the warm reception given by the public to our fantastic wedding fair.  Our tenants, friends and colleagues from The Playhouse, Manor of Groves and Paradise Wildlife Park amongst others, did us proud and provided a fabulous show and terrific experience for our visitors. We are grateful to the support provided by all the tenants who participated in the event. They were hugely enthusiastic and the public responded.”
