Land Securities revamps Bracknell line-up

Published:  04 May, 2011

Land Securities has signed fashion brands New Look and JD Sports at The Peel Centre in Bracknell

The deals follow the arrival of Next, which moved in at the end of 2010, and will see 12,200 sq ft of new space added to the existing 153,250-sq ft open A1 retail park.

New Look will take 8,000 sq ft and JD Sports 4,200 sq ft. Both shops are due to open in autumn 2011.

Nick Duffield, Land Securities' portfolio director for The Peel Centre, said: “These two new lettings are a continuation of our regeneration of what was an original 1980’s retail park and will create modern units that appeal to retailers.

“In the past few years, we’ve significantly improved The Peel Centre including letting refurbished units to Tesco Home and Next and now these lettings will further enhance the park and strengthen Bracknell as a shopping destination.”

This news follows Land Securities’ acquisition of the adjoining 102,000-sq ft Point Leisure Bracknell late last year. Both centres are now managed as one park.
