Mango and Krispy Kreme open at St David’s

Published:  20 April, 2011

Spanish fashion giant Mango and premium doughnut retailer Krispy Kreme have both opened their first stores in Wales at St David’s in Cardiff

Mango is to take a 2,472-sq ft store on the lower level of St David’s adjacent to Beaverbrooks and the newly launched Boux Avenue and opposite Pandora.

Krispy Kreme will open a 1,731-sq ft Coffee Bar in St David’s Walk, near to Pulp and Foot Asylum.

Krispy Kreme is opening after a Facebook campaign by local sweet toothed shoppers who left hundreds of messages calling for them to open in the city – making them the most requested brand for the St David’s Partnership. A sampling day held by the retailer on 1st April in Cardiff drew huge crowds and 12,000 doughnuts were given away in just 20 minutes.

Joanne Skilton, retail and leasing director of Capital Shopping Centres, on behalf of St David’s Partnership, the joint venture between CSC and Land Securities said: “We introduced 20 new retailers to Wales last year and these two new openings mean that we continue this great trend of bringing new names to Cardiff and to Wales. The opening earlier this month of Boux Avenue within St David’s as one of the first six stores in the UK, is further evidence that when a retailer wants to enter Wales, St David’s is the place to be.”

E J Hales, Lunson Mitchenall and Cushman & Wakefield are the letting agents for St David’s. Mango was represented by Harper Dennis Hobbs and Krispy Kreme was represented by Morgan Williams.
