Shoppers stopped in their tracks as McArthurGlen’s Swindon Designer Outlet hosted a horseback fashion show to celebrate its sponsporship of the Badminton Horse Trials

McArthurGlen estimates that racing fashion sales represents around 25 per cent of the total annual fashion sales across McArthurGlen’s seven UK centres.

With only two weeks remaining until Badminton Horse Trials, McArthurGlen’s Swindon Designer Outlet expects to see circa 150,000 racegoers over the next two weeks alone.

McArthurGlen’s Swindon Designer Outlet is around 30 miles from Badminton and between 30-45 minutes drive time from race courses in nearby Bath, Cheltenham, Newbury and Ascot. With such close proximity to so many race courses, the designer outlet is a popular shopping destination for race goers.

The horseback fashion show took place throughout the afternoon, outside the main entrance of McArthurGlen’s iconic Swindon Designer Outlet. Three 17 hands high racehorses and catwalk models descended on the designer outlet to showcase key racing looks from the centres current collections.

Centre manager Tina Cumpstey said: “This is the first year that we’re sponsoring the Badminton Horse Trials. The racing season is one of our biggest fashion occasion buying periods in the financial year, with women enjoying the chance to step out in their best fashion finds, with each racegoer spending between £250 and £300 on average.”
