New tenants and new agents at the Harlequin

CWM joins the leasing team as Lakeland joins tenant line-up at the Harlequin shopping centre in Watford.
Lakeland will open a two-floor store, including around 4,760-sq ft of retail space on the ground floor and 1,127 sq ft at mezzanine level, in early May. The new store is adjacent to Boots and close to John Lewis, WHSmith, River Island and Clas Ohlson.
The new store is part of a wider expansion plan for the retailer that will see it open up to eight new stores this year and follows a similar opening at Capital Shopping Centres and Land Securities’ St David’s centre in Cardiff.
The new store for Lakeland follows recent new lettings to Pandora and TM Lewin as owner CSC continues to revamp its tenant mix to meet the needs of today’s shopper. To drive this process it has appointed CWM as joint agent with Lunson Mitchenall.
Jonathan Ainsley, director of asset management south at Capital Shopping Centres, said the appointment of CWM as joint agents will strengthen the agency leasing team and bring a new dynamic to the centre: “CWM’s retail expertise combined with Lunson Mitchenall’s history and knowledge of the Harlequin Centre ensures that we have the right resources to deliver new opportunities and grow the existing strong retail mix.”
Harmer Ray Hoffbrand advised Lakeland.
