Lowry Outlet Mall boosts footfall with dinosaur campaign

Published:  16 March, 2011

The Lowry Outlet Mall has reported increased sales and footfall figures for the February half term period.

Total sales were up 11.3 per cent year on year, with like-for-like sales up 6.5 per cent.  Footfall has also increased, up 5 per cent on the same period in 2010.

The success is being credited to a series of ‘Lost World’ events, which saw a diverse programme of activities, around a dinosaur theme, taking place between 12 February and 27 February.

Events included a partnership with The Manchester Museum giving visitors the chance to handle a selection of genuine Lost World artefacts and fossils, a visit from Tiny – a 6ft animatronic dinosaur and dinosaur building craft workshops.

Centre manager, Robert Hallworth, said: “In this very tough economic climate, the Mall continues to perform by delivering added value events that really pull in the right market for our retailers. It’s a great start to the great start to the year and we’re now planning an equally exciting Easter and summer campaign.”
