Just a few weeks after purchasing Ayr Central Shopping Centre from Henry Boot for £33.8m million, new owners have signed up their first tenant, fashion retailer Bank

The 180,000-sq ft Ayr Central shopping centre is located in the heart of the town centre. Bank has taken a 5,300-sq ft unit adjacent to JD and River Island. It will trade alongside a host of other major multiple brands including Debenhams, Primark, Next, H&M, JD Sports, HMV and Clarks.

Sovereign Land’s Chris Geaves said: “The centre has an excellent line up of major national multiple tenants. There are one or two voids, which we know we can turn around. Signing Bank so quickly after completing the purchase is a very positive step and we are already in negotiation regarding further deals.

“In addition to the lettings, we are working up an asset management plan which will improve the environment of the centre and increase lettable area. There are some obvious gaps in the town’s retail offer, which our plan will address.”
