L&G consults on Northampton extension

The £300m redevelopment of the Grosvenor Centre in Northampton is going out to public consultation

Centre owner Legal & General signed a development agreement with Northampton Borough Council in late 2009 to refurbish and extend the Grosvenor Centre. Now it is unveiling its initial proposals and inviting shoppers to comment at a public exhibition.

Simon Russian, senior fund manager at Legal & General, said: “The redevelopment of the centre is an opportunity to revitalise Northampton and provide the range and quality of shops people expect in a major town centre. Over the last year we have been working closely with our partners to prepare for the redevelopment and although there is some way to go, we want to hear what local people wish to see in the new development before we start to prepare the planning application. ”
