New brands target Bluewater

Kiehls, Boux Avenue, Radley, Toni & Guy and Café Rouge are to open at Bluewater

Following a record year, during which annual footfall reached 28.1m and sales increased by 3.3 per cent year-on-year, five new brands are to open at Bluewater.

Kiehls is currently fitting out a 253-sq ft beauty boutique on Bluewater’s lower Guildhall adjacent to John Lewis. Also in the Guildhall, on the upper level, is Radley’s 1,209-sq ft store. The brand creating a standalone flagship following the success of its John Lewis and House of Fraser concessions, both of which will continue to trade.

Radley is occupying Toni & Guy’s former unit, after the hairdresser upsized to a 1,530-sq ft salon on Bluewater’s upper Rose Gallery.And Theo Paphitis’s new lingerie and nightwear brand, Boux Avenue, is to open one of its first stores in the country on Bluewater’s lower Rose Gallery in a 3,659-sq ft unit.

Adding to Bluewater’s dining offer is Café Rouge, which is currently fitting out a 3,300-sq ft restaurant on the lower Thames Walk between Marks & Spencer and the £60m Events Venue, which opens later this year and will include a further five new restaurants located around a 32,000-sq ft plaza.

Guy Thomas, head of leasing at Lend Lease Retail, said: “These new brands are a reflection of our commitment to evolving Bluewater’s offer so that it remains the first-choice destination for retailers, caterers and, ultimately, consumers. Along with the forthcoming Events Venue, they add to Bluewater’s unique day-out experience, which is a key point-of-difference versus other locations.”
