Sovereign Land leases another 50,000 sq ft at Trinity Walk in Wakefield, three months ahead of opening
Wakefield’s Trinity Walk - the 500,000 sq ft shopping centre being developed by a consortium led by Sovereign Land - has added another two major retailers, Asda Living and Argos, to its impressive tenant mix in readiness for the opening this May.
Asda Living’s 33,368-sq ft store is the first shopping centre location for the retailer’s new lifestyle format. It will be located at the car park level of the scheme, close to Sainsbury’s new 117,000-sq ft store.
Argos has taken a 17,226 sq ft unit across two floors at the scheme’s main entrance from its 1,000 space car park. The unit has been let on 15-year lease.
These latest lettings follow deals with Deichmann, Clintons, Esquires, Bijou Brigitte and Costa, which also all signed in January. Trinity Walk has now signed over 66,000 sq ft of space in under one month.
Trinity Walk is the first of only three major new shopping centres set to open this year, and over 250,000 sq ft now been handed over to tenants. Sainsbury’s, Next and New Look now join Debenhams and H&M on site fitting-out of their new stores.
Max La Frenais, leasing director at Sovereign Land, joint developer and development manager of Trinity Walk, said: “The lettings are progressing extremely well. With six new signings already this year, we are really pleased with how the tenant line-up is shaping up. With a number of retailers now on site getting geared up for opening, we are looking forward to launching a truly successful scheme that will transform shopping in Wakefield when it opens in May.”
Letting agents for Trinity Walk are Lunson Mitchenall and Angermann Goddard & Loyd. Cushman & Wakefield acted on behalf of Asda Living.
