REALM has announced the appointment of Paul McCarthy as the new centre manager for Freeport Braintree Outlet Shopping Village.

McCarthy brings a wealth of experience having held a number of senior commercial roles at Heathrow Airport and more recently working for a specialist retail consultancy.

McCarthy will be working with the team at Freeport Braintree to drive the centre forward and will work with the local community, council and retailers to help make Freeport Braintree a destination to visit.

Paul McCarthy said: “Customers know that outlet shopping offers huge bargains and Freeport Braintree is home to a great mix of top quality brands offering extraordinary value.

“I look forward to leading the team here to ensure that we consistently provide a great trading environment that enables our retailers to do what they do best. Since opening the Outlet Shopping Village has made a significant contribution to the local economy and I want to make sure that we carry on working with the community to further develop this.”

REALM also announced the temporary appointment of Jon Abbott as centre manager at Freeport Talke Outlet Centre.

Abbott is joining the team at a crucial point, with a £2m major remodelling and improvement plan currently taking place at the scheme near Stoke-On-Trent.

Abbott joins from a predominantly retail background where he worked for 10 years at retail giant Marks & Spencer, where he was involved in the site acquisition for the Simply Foods programme.
