Argos has doubled its presence in the Clydebank Shopping Centre as the latest in a recent series of upsizing and consolidations

The combination of two separate units has resulted in a new 15,000-sq ft double unit for Argos, the UK’s largest general goods national retailer, on a 15 year lease. This follows an upsizing of 46 per cent by per cent Internacionale Retail to 2,749 sqft and 48 per cent by Claires Accessories to 845 sqft. Both agreed to lease their new stores for 10 years.

Thomas Cook also completed a consolidation of units and now trades from a 1,615 sqft unit on a 10-year lease.

King Sturge and Savills are letting agents.

Clydebank Shopping Centre is owned by a joint venture between Helical Bar and Prime Commercial Properties. Bianca Vlcek, associate director at Prime Commercial Properties said: “We see this activity as a very positive sign of these high profile retailers’ commitment to Clydebank Shopping Centre and an illustration of their strong relationship with the regular customer base at the centre.”

Clydebank Shopping Centre is located just eight miles from Glasgow’s city centre and welcomes 140,000 customers every week. It hosts over 100 retailers including Primark, Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Boots, Game and Asda as well as a ten-screen Empire Cinema
