Samsung launch people counting network dome
Published: 07 February, 2011
In response to demand from retailers, shopping centre management and car park operators Samsung has introduced the SND-3080C a network dome combined with a customer counting tool for both security and marketing uses.
The people counting feature of the SND-3080C is part of the dome’s video analytics capability and it works by drawing a virtual line or box in a certain part of the scene. The dome then counts the number of people that cross the line or enter the box and the data is transmitted at selected intervals to a predetermined location.
The SND-3080C features day/night operation and can capture and transmit high resolution images in real time across a network.
The device has a multi-streaming feature and can simultaneously stream IP video across a network, as well as analogue video.
The images can be viewed remotely via a web browser which provides remote access to the live video stream and data stored on the domes built-in SD memory card slot as well as full access to the OSD menu system. There is also the option to view images via Samsung’s licence- free viewer software and a host of third-party management platforms.
Other key features include PoE (Power over Ethernet), Wide Dynamic Range, four-point polygonal privacy masking and progressive scan technology. Full duplex bi-directional audio allows communication between the dome’s location and a control room.
The product comes with free technical support and a full three-year warranty.
