H&M signs in Huddersfield

H&M has been secured for a newly-created 17,000-sq ft anchor store at the Kingsgate Shopping Centre, Huddersfield
H&M has taken a 10-year lease an annual rent of £275,000 pa after Kingsgate owner WD Huddersfield agreed to invest £1m to create the new space. H&M will be among the largest stores in the shopping centre and will complement existing retailers which include House of Fraser, Next, Clintons, River Island, TK Maxx and Currys.
King Sturge adised the landlord and Jonathan Newns, head of the in-town retail team,said: “Attracting H&M to Kingsgate Shopping Centre re-enforces growing interest in the scheme from well-known national and international brands. While all units are now occupied, we are looking to engineer other opportunities to accommodate similar retailers as the centre continues to attract demand from high-profile retailers.”
Hartnell Taylor Cook represented H&M in the deal while Rees Denton and Brian Oakwell & Associates are joint agents for WD Huddersfield.
