Freeport Talke invests £2m in centre relaunch

Published:  24 January, 2011

REALM has announced it will invest £2m in the remodeling of Freeport Talke Outlet Centre, near Stoke-On-Trent, including the launch of a Nike Outlet.

Nike, due to open on February 3rd, will occupy 8,500 sq ft of a 25,000 sq ft unit – previously let to a supermarket - leaving five new retail units available for occupancy in 2011.

An extensive advertising and marketing campaign will support the expansion including a national television advert, 48”sheets, roundabout sponsorship and a leaflet drop in the surrounding postcode areas. The aim of the campaign is to extend the target reach for Freeport Talke across a 45 minute catchment of 2.1 million shoppers.

Dan Mason, REALM development director, said: “Nike is another great addition to the Freeport Talke mix and is set to be a major attraction for shoppers. The arrival has enabled us to remodel the former supermarket and undertake further physical and branding improvements to maximise the appeal of the centre to the excellent catchment and customer base.”

The planned £2m project includes improvements to the centre – which has recently welcomed retailers Marks & Spencer and GAP Outlet - including new signage and renovations to the malls.
