Premier takes over security services at Ropewalk

Security services for the Ropewalk Shopping Centre in Nuneaton have been newly-contracted to Leicester-based Premier.
Opened in 2005, Ropewalk provides 205,000 sq ft of retail space for over 30 retail units across two levels in Nuneaton’s town centre with a 525 space multi-storey car park.
Under the new contract award, the centre’s existing staff of five contract security officers will transfer to Premier under the Acquired Rights Directive while additional support personnel are to be recruited to enhance contract performance.
As part of the mobilisation process, Premier is developing a training programme covering customer service, control and restraint, public space CCTV and physical skills training, specially aligned to the individual needs of shopping centre.
Premier recently added Nuneaton’s 33 retail unit Abbeygate Shopping Centre to its portfolio and is working to raise levels of training to the Abbeygate security team whilst managing day to day security operations within the shopping centre.
Premier director Andrew Hallam said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded a second shopping centre contract in as many months.
“Ropewalk highlights our strengths in this challenging customer-facing sector and we are looking forward to working with centre manager John Kelleher and the retailers to optimising the safety and security of the environment for all its users."
