Erica Burlace Centre Manager, CrownGate

After almost three years at CrownGate everything still feels new and propitious. Eight years ago after the obligatory spell in London I started out in Centre Management and quickly realised I would never bore of it.

The first 3 years as a centre manager I barely took a breath. I then worked on the Fort Dunlop project in Birmingham, through construction phase into phased occupancy. I enjoyed the construction element and went into contracts management, working on retail new builds and refurbishments. But, I missed the retailers, and was lured back into centre management.

I have developed a professional patience (though some would disagree), accepting that each major project is subject to many conditions such as; industry trends, funding, stakeholder buy in and ROI. The speed in which this industry is evolving ensures that no day is the same and that is one of the many reasons why I love my job
