Theo Paphitis backs Bluewater Smile Campaign

Bluewater has launched the ‘Smile Goes a Mile’ campaign, which aims to highlight the benefits of smiling in delivering outstanding customer satisfaction and a positive working background.

The Learning Shop, a free training and advice service, will be running dedicated ‘smile classes’ for all retailers in the run-up to Christmas in a bid to focus on the importance of maintaining high customer service standards and delivering a world-class guest experience throughout retail’s busiest period.

Smiling has many known therapeutic and health benefits including boosting the immune system, reducing stress levels, lowering blood pressure and releasing endorphins.

Entrepreneur, star of TV’s Dragon’s Den and patron of Skillsmart Retail Theo Paphitis backed the campaign. “Providing a top quality customer service experience is key for retailers to guarantee customer satisfaction,” he said. “Maintaining these standards during the peak retail season is important to generate loyal customers and secure high sales. The Bluewater ‘smile classes’ are a great way to motivate staff and highlight the benefits of service with a smile.”

Bluewater general manager, Andrew Parkinson added: “We pride ourselves with very high customer service standards, which is reflected in Bluewater’s outstanding concierge offering.  A smile can determine the difference between a positive guest experience, and a great guest experience.”
