L’Occitane and Dwell join thecentre:mk

Published:  08 December, 2010

The two new lettings will boost the centre’s premium quarter and help the mall on its way to becoming 100 per cent let by Christmas.

French skincare and beauty experts L’Occitane will open a 756 sq ft unit - their 49th UK boutique. Directly opposite, fast-growing contemporary furniture and home accessories designer Dwell, will open the centre’s first dedicated home furnishing store in the 3077 sq ft unit on a ten year lease.

Centre director, Robert Hall said: “These exciting new lettings can be seen as a further success in our plan to invest in the premium retail quarter, which was launched back in 2008. Located directly adjacent to the newly opened restaurant quarter, Destination Dining, the premium retail quarter provides thecentre:mk with another attribute to attract visitors interested high end quality shopping. The timings of these lettings, opening as they do in good time for Christmas 2010, are absolutely ideal.”

Anthony Ross, asset manager at Cushman & Wakefield Investors added: “thecentre:mk’s ongoing success as the premier shopping destination in the region can be attributed to the owners good asset management and commitment to investing in improvements and upgrades at the centre. Such investment enables thecentre:mk to attract the best brands to the scheme and continue to enhance the retail offer and diverse tenant mix.”

CBRE and GCW acted for the joint owners of thecentre:mk. Mann Smith & Partners acted for Dwell. CWM acted for L’Occitane.
